'ello aspiring beatmakers!

My name is Cagney and I have created this blog for people who are interested in making music through FL Studio (formally known as Fruityloops Studio) and/or Cubase but have no idea where to start. It can all seem very daunting when you first open your selected DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) but give it a little time and you will be knocking out music within minutes. I am by no means a "pro" I am still learning a lot all the time but thought I'd share what with you what I can.... and try to make your learning curve a little less steep than mine has been.

I am going to start with the very basics and go from there. This includes how to get sounds you have downloaded in to your chosen sequencer...if you are using FL Studio you will already know the stock instruments and drums sound pretty bad, so my first advice to you is to go searching for some new sounds. You can buy some nice kits from certain places but if you look in the right places you will find just as good sounding kits for FREE!... I will upload some kits for you so you don't have to scour the realms of the matrix looking yourself.

Along with tutorials for FL Studio and Cubase I will also make some tutorials for some plugins/VST's but lets not run before we can walk...we will come to those a little later.

I will be updating this blog on a regular basis so if these tutorials are a little too basic for you please come back because soon enough there will be tutorials with more advanced techniques. If you have any requests for tutorials do not hesitate to contact me and I will make one...

I hope you will enjoy these coming tutorials and if you have any questions or queries you need answering feel free to send me a message or comment and I will do my best to help you figure out your problems and get you back on track (pun intended).

I would also like to add, these tutorials do not have voice.... they have written sentances. I have yet to figure out how to record the sound from my built in mic at the same time the audio from the screen recorder is playing...I will try to get that sorted as soon as possible but for now with these basic tutorials... I think it is easy to understand with text.

I'm hoping to help you learn quickly and clearly, sooooo.....
